The Moon Chakra, or Bindu, is the 8th chakra located just behind the crown at the cowlick. This is the moon of the body, or the feminine (the solar plexus being the sun, masculine). As the feminine has been scrubbed out of awareness is society, so has the Moon Chakra been relegated to the shadows, and therefore less known. This chakra is the nectar of the body, the place where we receive after all the efforting and hard work of the upward moving kundalini energy along the spine. The place of receiving and regeneration. The rest required after effort. This chakra drops the energy back down the spine creating a circuit to loop back up again. As it begins to trickle down, this creative life force energy must be stored or used before it arrives at the solar plexus and burns up. We can hold this energy in the throat (one reason for chanting), but also give it life by expressing it creatively as well.
