My Healing Journey
My story begins like most. As a sensitive child in a world that often doesn't understand us, I didn't feel I belonged. I felt different. I felt alone. I felt weird. I felt tender, all the time! I didn't know yet — that was my super power! So I kept it buried and tried to fit in as best I could.
I did all the things a person does that are suppose to make us happy— the house, the dog, the baby. Yet I was miserable — and sick! I woke up one day and asked, who the hell made all these decisions and how did I get here? As Elizabeth Gilbert said "I actively participated in every moment of the creation of this life and I didn't see myself in any of it." So I set about changing it.
I got divorced, moved back home to Portland, and started to see some of myself. My health began to improve and I felt stronger. But as a newly single mom, I had to support us both, so off to corporate life I went. Even at a non-profit doing beautiful work in the world, my gifts were laying dormant. I got the nudge for three years to leave before I got the courage to jump.
Finally I did, and then everything unraveled. When you keep yourself buried your whole life and then suddenly come out of the closet, there's some serious grief work to do. How do you run a business, offering gifts you've buried your whole life and risk being seen when you've intentionally hid yourself for fear of being ostracized? You cry, and crawl, and do it anyway. And eventually you see those gifts you've buried as what makes you unique — what you're actually here to do. The funny thing about healing is that as you discover your wounds, they often bring you to your gifts.
Now, it is one of my greatest treasures to work with clients one-on-one, or in groups, where I get to hold sacred space for their discovery of belonging — the journey of honoring their wounds as unique gifts.
I promise you, you belong. You matter. And you have a gift to give that the world needs NOW. Let's uncover it!

Why Double Magenta?
I was traveling years ago, long before Double Magenta was even an idea. I met a woman that did color therapy and she asked me my birthday, to which I replied, 8/26. She immediately looked at me and said "you're a double magenta." She explained that every number is associated with a color, eight being magenta. I was 8 (august) + 8 (2+6) = 88: Double Magenta. I didn't know what it meant at the time, but it sent a shudder of knowing within me. That wave of — pay attention here.
I later learned that magenta "signifies harmony and balance: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Magenta influences our whole personal and spiritual development. This color is an instrument of change and transformation; it helps to release old emotional patterns that prevent personal and spiritual development and aids us in moving forward. Magenta is the color of the non-conformist, the free spirit. It pushes you to take responsibility for creating your own path in life and ... assists in turning your ambitions and desires into reality."
Hello! I knew if I was going to guide others to help find their authentic, unique selves, then I needed to do that myself. You can't teach what you don't know. And so, I needed to BE Double Magenta.
